How this works
Methodology & limits
We fetch the HTML of the page you provide and parse the <title>
, H1–H3
, link[rel=canonical]
, and meta[name="robots"]
. Title width is estimated by rendering the text on a hidden canvas to approximate Google’s truncation threshold (~580px). Some pages block fetching; if that happens, try a different URL.
FAQs
1) What’s a good title width?
As a rule of thumb, keep titles under ~580px. Pixel width is a better proxy than character count because different characters render at different widths.
2) How many H1s should a page have?
Prefer a single, descriptive H1. Multiple H1s aren’t a direct penalty, but they can confuse structure and accessibility.
3) Do I always need a canonical tag?
Yes for most sites. It helps consolidate signals to the preferred URL and avoids duplicate issues.
4) What should my meta robots be?
For indexable pages: index, follow
. Use noindex
for thin or utility pages you don’t want in search.
5) Why does the tool show “blocked” on some URLs?
Some sites block cross-origin fetches or require JS rendering. If blocked, you can still check your own pages where you control headers.
6) Does this replace Lighthouse?
No — this is a fast, focused snapshot. Use Lighthouse or PageSpeed for performance, accessibility and best-practice audits.
7) Will headings alone improve rankings?
They improve clarity and help search engines understand structure. Rankings come from the overall strategy, content quality, links and technical health.
8) Do you store my URLs?
No. Inputs are processed to return results and not stored.
